China Ranch is a hidden oasis down two miles of narrow dirt road, just out of Tecopa. It’s a date farm where you can drink shakes and take home rare varieties of fresh dates. Hiking the short Mercer Trail gives you this view of the farm from above, over the bumpy landscape along Willow Creek out towards Amargosa Slot Canyon. It feels like the setting of Star Wars’ Tatooine.
